  • Community Liaison | CEUWC

Community Liaison 2021 Damaris Kiewiets The purpose of community liaison is to facilitate circular and equitable engagement between the university and its different community associates to collectively bring about positive societal/broader impacts. The CEU suggests a Community Engagement (CE) typology which presents the different types of Boyer’s scholarships, engagement, communities and stakeholder partners for each of the respective types. This is so that there is a spectrum though which the different types of engagement, communities and initiatives can be classified and accommodated. • ICLDP

Project Details ICLDP International Community Leadership Development Programme (ICLDP) The overall purpose of the ICLDP pilot project was to collaboratively design and implement an international community leadership exchange programme that would empower community leaders in bringing about ‘change’ (transformation) in their communities towards improved community well-being. The ICLDP pilot project partners (CEU & MU Extension) set themselves three goals, related to the establishment of a collaborative programme, that must be based on all scholarships of engagement and, as a result, extend their reach to communities through community leaders. The pilot project goals were translated into three project objectives , with the first objective being to add community engagement, community development and community extension in an integrated manner to the 30-year long UMSAEP partnership. The remaining two objectives relate to the development and implementation of a transformational international community leadership programme.
